In creating this Necklace, the artist designed a replica of the ancient “Half a Shekel” tithe coin, minted by Jews almost 2000 years ago, during the Great Revolt against the Romans. The ancient Hebrew script on the coin’s face spells Yerushalayim HaK’dosha, meaning: Holy Jerusalem. Since the decorative motif on the coin is a three-stemmed pomegranate branch, it was only fitting that the artist set the pomegranate with rubies that resemble the color of the fruit.
